Today, we will be taking a look at the ASRock Fatal1ty H370 Performance Motherboard. It utilizes the Intel H370 chipset, which is designed with performance in mind, for both mainstream users and gamers alike. It features a 10 Power Phase Design and supports DDR4 2666, Intel Optane memory, AMD Quad CrossFireX, Dual M.2, Intel Gigabit LAN, ASRock Polychrome RGB, as well as Creative Sound Blaster™ Cinema 5 audio.
The Intel H370 chipset sits in between the higher-end Z370 which is designed for enthusiasts and overclockers, and the more budget-friendly B360. All these chipsets are compatible with Intel’s latest 8th Gen Coffee Lake processors using the LGA1151 socket, … but again, it’s not compatible with 6th/7th gen processors unfortunately.
Take a quick look at the comparison chart on the various Intel chipsets for 8th Gen Coffee Lake processors. Looking at the comparison chart, the H370 chipset offer very similar features to the Z370, with only the difference being the ability to overclock on the Z370, as well as the amount of PCI Express lanes offered … 20 for the H370 and 24 for the Z370.

We’ll be using an Intel Core i7-8700K processor along with some DDR4-3000 ram from Patriot, as well as a Zotac GeForce GTX 1080.
It will be interesting to see how this motherboard will perform against the Z370 motherboards we’ve come across. I’ve got high expectations for the ASRock Fatal1ty H370 Performance, in fact I’m expecting the performance to match, or come very close to that of the Z370. The only thing I might worry about, is the lack of overclocking options in the BIOS.
