Verdict and Conclusion
As a PCIE expansion card, the Asus Hyper M.2 x16 card is a great way to add additional M.2 SSDs your system, especially for those who don’t have M.2 slots on their motherboards. There doesn’t seem to be any real bottlenecks or performance drops, when used with our Patriot Hellfire M.2 PCIE NVMe SSD. Using CrystalMark, the read speeds remained similar at around 2,778 MB/sec, while write speeds reached 1,395 MB/sec.
Although I haven’t fully tested the RAID capabilities using Intel’s VROC technology (currently only available on X299 motherboards), I’m sure it’ll be a very good solution for workstation users and content creators, who needs the speed and reliability of a super fast RAID solution.

The Asus Hyper M.2 x16 card is ideal for any workstation users or content creators who needs a fast and reliable RAID solution (using Intel VROC on X299 motherboard). Alternatively, you can just this card to simply manage their SSD storage with ease via single x16 PCIE slot.
