Feeling a little restless one night, I took full advantage of the floodlights the building next to mine has put up to deter burglars during their exterior renovations, I decided to paint the front panel.

I’ve been putting off painting the front panel as I was waiting for an XSPC watercooling thermometer reader thing, but after some consideration I decided against waiting for it (it’s still being ordered) because I didn’t want to use other watercooling parts from another company when Bitspower were so kind in supplying my kit, and the digital reader does look a little tacky…..

Here’s me trying to measure up centrally where the arc reactor will go……took me several attempts.

I used one of these circular cutters, much like a drawing compass we used to use in schools but with a very sharp razor on the end instead of a pencil. Had to go round and round, and change razor blades a few times, for about 30 minutes.

…and here’s the hole freshly cut.
With thearc reactor舒适地坐在整体上面。

Just a little preparation for the front panel; masking off the Cooler Master logo and a light sand down of the smooth plastic surfaces for the primer to grip on.

The USB port panel was removed, and then any dangling cables were stuck down.

一层底漆,2层的基本色,和the front panel has been painted.

电弧反应堆粘在一起......

….and here it is lit up!
I am running out of the champagne paint spray, and I need to conserve it for another part of the cover which should be arriving in a weeks time. If I still have a little champagne spray left, I am considering painting the edges of the front panel with it to give it a little more contrast.
That’s it for part one of this build log, you can read part 2 and part 3 right这里和这里!
