BIOSTAR M700 Series M.2 PCI-E Gen3x4 NVMe 512GB SSD Review

Load Temps

We benchmarked the whole system for more than an hour … at its peak, it reached a temperature of 67 degrees Celsius, which is acceptable. Bare in mind, we used the M.2 Armor heatshield which is included with the ASRock X570 Creator motherboard.

Verdict and Conclusion

I’m genuinely surprised with the overall performance of the BIOSTAR M700 Series M.2 SSD. During our tests, it beat all our expectations and performed above its specified speeds of 2000MB/sec (read) and 1600Mb/sec (write). It’s not often you see an advertised product that will actually perform above its specifications, but in the case … it did. This is all thanks to the high-performance Silicon Motion SSD controller, which the M700 uses.

The only thing that BIOSTAR could improve on is the generic look of the M700 SSD … which can easily be done by adding a decent looking heatspreader. Also, they could offer a version with a larger capacity of 1TB or even 2TB would be good too. I think a 256Gb SSD is the bare minimum you would want as a boot drive, but I would recommend a 512GB version nowadays. By the way, for some reason the larger 512Gb version offers better performance than the 256Gb version.

I couldn’t find the BIOSTAR M700 Series M.2 SSD on any online retail stores, so they may be hard to come by. I suggest contacting your local retailer for a price. We expect the price to be around USD $60-80.

Final words:

系列的BIOSTAR M700 M.2 SSD (512 gb的版本)perfectly suited for gamers, content creators and designers alike, who wants an affordable, generic-looking SSD that offers very good performance and speed. With a large capacity of 512GB, you can use it for both your applications, as well as your main boot drive.
