ASRock B560 Steel Legend Motherboard Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed, so the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what are you doing. High voltages may damage your hardware and it will not be covered by warranty.

According to Intel, the B560 chipset allows memory overclocking and you can see it really does! LOL. We were able to overclock the ADATA Spectrix D60G from the default speed of DDR4-3600 to an acceptable DDR4-4000.

Overclocking the Core i9-10900K was a bit of a challenge, especially when the B560 chipset only allows you increase the multiplier up to x49 (what??). In the end, we overclocked the CPU to 4.9GHz with memory speeds up to DDR4-4000.All other settings left on AUTO and untouched.

Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake runs really HOT, reaching beyond 100 degrees Celsius on many occasions. At these temperatures CPU throttling kicks in and that’s not good. That’s no fault of the motherboard, but the processor.

There’s rumors that the upcoming 11th Gen Rocket Lake is also handicapped with high load temperatures and requires at least a 360mm AIO cooler for optimal performance
