Project AMD3D Mini – Full Build Log and Video

The Finished Build

It’s done. Project AMD3D Mini featuring an Intel Core i7-8700K processor, along with a MSI MPG Z390I Gaming Edge AC motherboard in a A4 Open mini-ATX chassis. Yes that’s right, it’s not a typo … for an explanation on why I used an Intel processor for this build, you canread the introductionof what happened.

Building this mini-ITX system was fun and really enjoyable. I love the compact size, and love the way all the components fitted perfectly. The most difficult part was the cabling. There’s some much of it, and you just have to find a way to tidy it (or hide it). Luckily my cable management skills wasn’t too bad.

The all white theme along with the spray-painted mini-ITX chassis, makes this project build stand out a mile away. All the components matched perfectly with our white color scheme, all except for the graphics card. Anyone know of any white graphics card out there?

Because the A4 mini-ITX is an open chassis, installing the rest of the components was as breeze, so no issues here. However, the Enermax AQUAFUSION White 120 RGB AIO Cooler was quite a challenge to install. Bending those thick sleeved tubing wasn’t easy, but in the end we managed to fit it perfectly on to the MSI MPG Z390I motherboard.

这是这个电脑系统构建的总成本follows:

PSU Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 ARGB 850W $175
Chassis Custom A4 Open Air Mini-ITX chassis $175
VGA card ZOTAC Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER $249

TOTAL

~ $1,420

Costing a total of USD $1,420, some of you might think it’s a little bit on the expensive side. Sure, but if you really break it down … it’s an all-white themed system build, that uses a unique mini-ITX open chassis, plus an all white AIO CPU cooler with white components to match … I don’t think you’ll ever see another one quite like it. The biggest proportion of the cost is the processor and motherboard combination, which costs a total of $548. And don’t forget to add in the cost of the white PSU cables and white spray-paint too!
